Elevating Nocci’s Brand: Website Redesign and News Platform

When the Negros Oriental Chamber of Commerce & Industry (NOCCI) approached me, they had a clear mission: strengthen their online presence and give their growing audience two things—an authoritative corporate website and a dynamic news hub. I set out to create nocci.biz as the institutional home for their mission, programs, and membership, and nocci.biz/news as a go-to destination for timely updates, policy insights, and event coverage.

From the start, my goal was to make it effortless for business owners, policymakers, and partners to understand NOCCI’s work and get involved, while giving their team a content system they could run without heavy agency dependence.

Context & Goals

NOCCI is the voice of business in Negros Oriental—advocating policy, catalyzing investment, and convening the business community through programs and public‑private partnerships. The organization also publishes ongoing updates on economic development, agriculture, digital inclusion, and policy engagement. To support this mission, NOCCI needed:

  1. A modern corporate site to explain who they are, what they do (services, projects, membership), and how partners can collaborate.
  2. A dedicated News & Events hub to publish timely, category‑driven stories featuring initiatives (e.g., digital connectivity, tourism, agribusiness, strategic planning).

Objectives

Clarify NOCCI’s value proposition and programs.
Make membership and services straightforward to discover and act on.
Provide an accessible, fast, and mobile first experience.
Elevate credibility through a consistent editorial design system and structured content.
Equip the internal team to publish news quickly

Discovery Highlights

  • Audience: MSMEs, large enterprises, local government units, national agencies, donors/partners, media, and the general public.
  • Content audit: We mapped core pages (About, Services, Projects, Membership, Contact) alongside the editorial pipeline (categories like Agriculture & Fisheries, Digital Inclusion, Policy & Governance, Events).
  • Messaging: Emphasize NOCCI’s convening power, public‑private partnerships, and tangible outcomes .
  • Constraints: Limited staff time for publishing and updates; content owners span multiple committees.

Information Architecture

Corporate Site (nocci.biz)

  • Home (mission, impact highlights, featured programs)
  • About (history, leadership, governance)
  • Services (member services, partner programs)
  • Projects (active & completed initiatives)
  • Membership (benefits, pricing, application)
  • Contact (address, phone, email, inquiry form)

News & Events (nocci.biz/news)

  • News hub landing (editorial tagline, featured stories, search)
  • Categories (e.g., Agriculture & Fisheries; Digital; Policy; Events)
  • Single article template (hero image, pull‑quote, related posts, author bio)
  • Tag archives and event listings
  • Newsletter signup (optional) and social share

Designing the Experience

For nocci.biz, I focused on clarity: a home page that speaks to NOCCI’s impact, service pages that make membership benefits obvious, and a project section that shows tangible results. For nocci.biz/news, I built a clean editorial layout with category-driven navigation, featured story grids, and single-article templates designed for readability and shareability.

I kept the visual language clean, institutional, and approachable—typography that’s easy to scan, balanced whitespace, and accessible color contrast. Navigation is intuitive, with CTAs for joining and contacting NOCCI always within reach.

Results & Future Direction

The separation of corporate and news content improved clarity and navigation. Publishing is faster, the content model is scalable, and storytelling is stronger—highlighting everything from satellite office openings that ease business registration to digital inclusion projects making a real impact.

The foundation is set for future enhancements like an events calendar, a member portal, and multilingual support. But most importantly, NOCCI now has an online presence that reflects its leadership role and makes it easier for the community to see, and join, their work.
